Scenario Activity

 

Please read your assigned scenario with your team members. Discuss how you would handle the situation and the respond to the questions related to your scenario using the space provided below.

 

 

Scenarios:

 

 

  1. A teacher assigns a project in which students download information and graphic resources from the Internet to create a class presentation. After the presentations are made, students’ files are posted online. Is this permissible? Why, or why not?  Select this text and type your answer here.

     

 

 

  1. A young student creates a report by copying and pasted text from various Websites into a word processing document. She rephrases some of the text, but does not cite any of her resources. How can you help the teacher turn this into a learning experience for the child? Select this text and type your answer here.

 

 

  1. A year 12 student takes video of a party where students are misbehaving in various ways and then posts it on YouTube, without the permission of the other students. Several parents contact you to complain. How will you handle this situation? 
  2. a) Not the schools probloem
  3. b) The parent (s) who are complaing should contact the parents of the student and request immediate removal.
  4. If the parents are responsive, then see if there is an appology and restitution
  5. If the parents/student are un responsive, then inform the police
  6. Place a complaint with You tube and a complaint with the school.
  7. I would then place a critical incident report to the school employer.

 

 

  1. When asked a factual question he can’t answer, a young teacher suggests that his students take out their mobile phones and use Google to find the answer. You walk into the classroom just as students begin texting their queries. What do you do? Explain.

  3. I quietly inform the teacher and the student that mobile phones are banned
  4. My query would be ... are the students doing what you have asked them to do?
  5. What about the students who don't have a mobile
