National Education Technology Standards Activity

In order to insure that students have access to technology-supported instruction that will make a difference, teachers need to develop their skills in developing and implementing effective activities that incorporate various technologies. Think about ways teachers in your school or district use technology to support instruction.

Read the refreshed NETS for Teachers handout. How do the NETS for Teachers and the Framework for 21^st Century Learning support student achievement? How would implementation of these standards impact your school improvement plan? What positive outcomes do you predict for teachers? What challenges might teachers face? How can you help teachers sustain effective use of technology as a tool for instruction?

1. How do the NETS for Teachers and the framework support student achievement? It provides a guideline and reference to teachers to help them to develop what they do in the classroom to best achieve an integrated curriculum.

2. How would implementation of these standards and framework impact your school improvement plan? It would help to ensure that the school improvement plan is at an appropriate level.  This level of engagement amoung faculty which would in turn elevate the skills of the students.
