How the ideas presented in this section relate to Australia’s initiative: Funding has come from state. Bulk purchasing. 

Challenges we see, based upon what we’ve read: Limitations put on what can be purchased. Heavy focus on interactive whiteboards and video streaming. Outside pressure now from federal government as well. Dept. of Commerce directs educational technology use and have little or no instructional background. No one is talking to the people who do the work.

Strategies we can adopt: Structure is very different here. No longer able to lease equipment.
